FIVE POINTERS FOR CHOOSING A QUALITY ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
The art and science of designing buildings and other structures can be summed up as architecture.
Architectural designers are involved in the design of structures or urban landscapes but may not be certified or recognized by a regulatory organization despite having abilities comparable to those of an architect.
Architectural design/drawings are documents, diagrams, or graphical representations that are created using computer-aided design (CAD) software or by hand for the purpose of building a structure.
We will just be talking about five (5) of the many elements that can be taken into account when choosing a good architectural design in this article.
AESTHETIC The term “aesthetic” refers to the study of the mind and how our minds determine whether something is beautiful or unattractive. Design needs aesthetics because our first impression of practically anything is dependent on its appearance. We are all guilty of “judging a book by its cover.” The use of materials, forms, styles, and high-quality finishing comprise an aesthetic design. In order to draw attention from a viewer, a building’s architectural design needs to be visually pleasing. Some banks have adopted an aesthetically pleasing and attractive building façade in order to establish a brand for themselves and attract more customers.
FUNCTIONALITY A building’s design should be regarded as bad or failing if it doesn’t fulfill the needs of its occupants. Function is the process of adapting a product, building, or object to the requirements or desires of the people who will use it in a way that enables those needs or desires to be satisfied. A functional design is both an end result and a method. It represents items that function well to complete their assigned tasks as an outcome. The design is a method that has been carefully thought out and is a collection of actions directed by the ideas that lead to the desired result. More importantly, the goal of a building design and the opinions of potential users go a long way to contribute to a building design’s functionality. Manufacturers of CAD, BIM, and 3D model software deserve a big thumbs up for helping clients get a big picture of their projects even before moving to the construction site.
STABILITY If a structure cannot survive the effects of wind, external environmental pressures, severe weather, live and dead load impacts, etc., it is deemed to be uninhabitable. A building’s architectural design must be finished in order for it to be strong and last the test of time. A structural engineer typically designs, calculates, and enforces a building’s stability.
SUSTAINABILITY The word sustainability can also be referred to as conservation or preservation. It indicates the ability to be sustained, supported, upheld, or confirmed. Sustainability ensures that the environmental actions we take now won’t have a negative or harmful impact on coming generations.
An architectural design should be environmentally friendly enough by reducing the negative effects of buildings on the environment through efficiency and restraint in the use of resources like materials, energy, development space ecosystems, and even money.
SIMPLICITY When referring to architectural design or a building, simplicity refers to the quality or condition of being straightforward, understandable, and uncomplicated in form or design. The word Simplicity is a general one, at one point in life or the other, everyone just wants to live a simple life. Likewise, designs are not supposed to be complex to be the best in all things, simplicity is the key.
